Languages
“The limits of my language mean the limits of my world.” – Ludwig Wittgenstein
“Those who know nothing of foreign languages know nothing of their own.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Language education is an extremely important element at a time when the world has become a global village.
Languages
Polish
Generalizing, arguing effectively and drawing conclusions are higher-order skills.
The goal of our school is to cultivate the beauty of language through eloquent use of it during discussions, presentations, and written work.
We want our graduates to be fluent in Polish, skillful in formulating arguments, and not to feel afraid when expressing their own views or opinions.
We deeply believe that there is no single way to interpret cultural texts, which is why we allow complete freedom of expression. Every idea, every concept, is equally valuable and supportive to us. The Polish language is a subject on many levels, and on each of them we are guided by one principle: discovering and nurturing creativity.
English
At our school we do not treat English as a foreign language.
The goal is to use the language fluently, similarly to one’s native language—that is, to discuss, argue, present, and summarize in written form. Bilingualism is currently one of the most desirable traits for people completing their education and entering the job market. Without excellent language skills, our scope for action is often limited. In today’s world, barriers resulting from distance and nationality are fading. We can work remotely, communicate online, and participate in international projects.
That’s why one of the main goals of LAS Academy is to educate “citizens of the world.” English is present at our school not only in the form of daily English lessons but also in other subjects.
Spanish
The third most popular language in the world.
Spanish is a beautiful and, above all, incredibly useful language. It is spoken as a native language by 650 million people and as a second language by another 100 million. Currently, 60 million students worldwide are learning the language.
