LAS Academy is a unique place that was born from a passion for music, art, and comprehensive education. From a love of nature and learning, and from the conviction that a modern school can be built differently – from the ground up.

Today's world is drastically different from the world in which our parents and grandparents grew up.
The continuous development of science, technology, and industry creates ever new possibilities for humanity, and therefore the world in which our children will live will be even more different.
For this reason, we have focused on several key aspects outlined below, with which a LAS Academy graduate entering the world will cope excellently:
We learn throughout our lives
Creativity
Music
Languages
Belief in one's own abilities
Emotional health
Empathy
Entrepreneurship
We learn throughout our lives
We have been equipped with brains that were created for continuous learning. No other organism in the world does this better than we do.
From global scientific literature, we draw knowledge about how the brain learns, and we use it to create the best possible conditions for the learning process. Converting internal motivation to learn into external motivation in the form of grades has no justification. We know that interesting lessons and inspiring teachers will make learning perceived as pleasure and internal development , strengthening the desire to learn throughout life.
Creativity
Today's world requires different competencies than was the case in the 20th century. We value curiosity, flexibility, and creativity more than ever before.
We support creativity in our school through interdisciplinary activities, asking appropriate questions that stimulate thinking and reflection, the possibility of discovery, and nurturing imagination during classes in both exact and artistic subjects.
Music
Current scientific research in the field of neurobiology and cognitive science has shown that playing a musical instrument should be an integral element of an integrated education system.
Neurobiology and neurodidactics point to enormous effects that are difficult to compare to any other activities that can influence the human brain. Einstein spoke about this, Gordon wrote about it, scientists from around the world confirm it. The benefits of playing an instrument are observed not only in mathematical and linguistic skills, but also emotional ones. Plato wrote: "Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything"
Languages
Language is the main source of communication, and globalization forces people to communicate with each other, which is why learning foreign languages is so important.
English is not treated as a foreign language with us, but as a second language essential for communication in today's world. By the end of elementary school, we want our students to communicate fluently and be able to conduct discussions, argue, write articles, and freely read literature.
Belief in one's own abilities
We build among students the feeling that everything depends on us, namely on the quantity and quality of work we perform. There are no impossible things.
We are raised with the belief that we are born with certain talents. This causes two false beliefs. On one hand, the feeling that if we have talent, success will come by itself and without hard work. On the other hand, we give up too quickly when we encounter difficulties in areas outside our "talent".
Emotional health
In school, particular emphasis is usually placed on the didactic process, omitting the emotional aspect. However, in today's world full of rush, advertisements, stress, and evaluation, it is particularly important to take care of our children's emotions – equally important as learning.
It has been confirmed that summative assessment (grades) is demotivating in the long term and can negatively affect students. The educational process without emotional comfort is ineffective. We have created an original system for providing feedback based largely on self-assessment. Additionally, thanks to small classes (12 people), the teacher has the opportunity to get to know each student and establish a direct relationship with them, as well as adapt content to the individual capabilities of the child.
Empathy
Compassion, that is, the ability to imagine the feelings and emotions of another person and the ability to read another person's way of thinking, is an essential element of creating valuable relationships.
The development of empathy is influenced by relationships with parents in the early stage of childhood, and then also the environment in which a person grows up, which is why it is so important to pay attention to it, emphasize it, and strengthen it in the school space.
Entrepreneurship
This is not a subject that can be learned, because in addition to knowledge and skills, it requires courage in action.
Entrepreneurship consists of: creativity and innovation, the ability to use ideas, taking risks (uncertainty), dynamism, activity, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions. At LAS Academy, during our lessons, projects, and additional activities, we create conditions so that the above characteristics can be practiced.

Get to know us better
Values
Our ethos, that is, a constant way of acting toward the world and people, is based at LAS Academy on such values as:
- respect
- honesty
- kindness
- family
- self-development (that is, continuous work on oneself in the broad sense of cognitive, emotional, and spiritual development)
Our Ethos
Nature
Contact with nature is an extremely important element supporting the harmonious development of children.
Working in offices, traveling by car, using underground garages, it often happens that we do not feel the weather that prevails outside the window. And we have less and less time for walks in nature. For us, nature is an element of the world without which we cannot imagine functioning, and therefore we want to enjoy it, surround ourselves with it, and take care of it.
Our school is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city and car exhaust, we border a forest that we want to use continuously throughout the year.
We know how important the sun is for the functioning of the organism, so we want all children to spend a considerable part of their time outdoors every day. When there is a lack of sun in winter, we have ensured appropriate lighting that has the appropriate intensity, color, and polarization, so as to resemble sunlight as much as possible, supporting good mood and thus supporting learning.
Walking barefoot has a beneficial effect not only on the proper development and posture of our children, but also on learning and behavior, which was recently confirmed by a large international study. We have become a school where students do not use indoor shoes, and great comfort has been maintained thanks to the installation of underfloor heating throughout the school.
Ecology
Our planet requires a conscious approach to ecology.
True care for our planet, animals and plants living around us, and water quality is something more than just segregating waste and collecting plastic caps. Our planet requires a conscious approach to ecology, and our school, in addition to ecological education, will participate in many environmental protection projects.
Healthy diet
Awareness that we are what we eat and what consequences our nutritional decisions have.
Unfortunately, competition between food producers increasingly causes the choice of the most economical or preventive solutions such as pesticides, antibiotics, preservatives, phosphates, and others that are meant to make products more attractive or extend their shelf life. These changes do not necessarily mean an improvement in product quality. Another aspect is the presence of sugar in many products we reach for on store shelves.
At LAS Academy, students learn how to choose products consciously, how to read labels, how to take care of a balanced diet, and their own health. Students cannot bring sweets and sweetened drinks to school. We ensure constant access to fresh vegetables and fruits as well as water.
Anti-consumerism
Happiness should be sought in pro-social activities, not in satisfying one's material needs.
No one is surprised anymore by a life attitude based on achieving happiness through acquiring objects and using many commercial services. Acquiring material objects in this case is intended to raise social status and is supposed to be an indicator of quality of life. Moreover, in a world focused on "me" and satisfying only one's own needs, loneliness, isolation appear, and good emotions, selfless relationships with others, joy from helping others begin to be lacking.
In our school, we point out that happiness should be sought elsewhere: in relationships, self-development, harmony, and through the passion of creating and discovering.
Authentic relationships
In a world filled with technology and social media, we should particularly care for real relationships.
Neurobiology research from time to time confirms that contact with another person through electronic transmission (both video and audio) does not stimulate the same structures in the brain as real physical contact with peers and teachers.
We understand that phones can be useful during the journey to and from school, but during lessons and breaks we do not see a place for them in our school (if needed, there is a phone in the office). Upon entering the school premises, students leave their mobile phones in a designated place and collect them after classes.
Internationality
With the development of the modern world, the phenomenon of migration is becoming more and more frequent and more and more natural.
Through an individual approach to each student, discrepancies resulting from learning in a different system do not pose a problem for us. We are ready to accept students from other countries to our school.
We have ensured an appropriate level of English language proficiency among our teachers and we care for the development of language skills of our students. Multicultural education also provides a unique opportunity to learn tolerance, acceptance, and not succumbing to stereotypes. This is shaping an open, multicultural society while respecting the diversity and uniqueness of national, cultural, ethnic, and religious traditions. We want our graduates to be conscious citizens of the world.
